The manufacturer of the Formula 1, Pirelli, has revealed the different possible strategies for the Hungarian Grand Prix. According to the Italian supplier, the one- and two-stop strategies would be equivalent, which could result in a mix within the grid. Pirelli indicates that a Soft-Medium-Medium sequence would be as fast as a Medium-Hard strategy.

In the event of a start on soft tires, the pit stop window would occur between laps 16 and 21. For a start on medium tires, drivers would have to stop between laps 26 and 34.

Pirelli also indicates that two other alternative strategies are also possible, but a little slower: a single stop with a start on soft tires or two stops with a Medium-Hard-Soft sequence. The teams will therefore be spoiled for choice in strategy, which will be determined with the tires used at the start.

If these indications from Pirelli are valid for a dry track, a possible rain could change the cards. As a reminder, the drivers have had 5 sets of intermediate tires and 3 sets of maxi-rain tires available since Friday. The FIA had granted an additional set of intermediate tires when rain disrupted Free Practice 3.

As a reminder, Pirelli brought to Budapest the tires from the middle of its range: the C2 (hard), the C3 (medium) and the C4 (soft).
