This season, the landscape of the Formula 1 is enriched by a new urban challenge: the Madring. Ambassador for this project, Carlos Sainz (WilliamsHe doesn't hesitate to compare this 5,416 km route to the standards of the routes in Jeddah or Baku. With six months to go, the Madrid construction site is in full swing.

The Spanish press has witnessed the spectacular progress of the work with the laying of the first layer of asphalt on a strategic section of the circuit. The figures speak for themselves: 1,800 cubic meters of bitumen were used. This technical operation, carried out by 80 people, including 35 specialists, involved pouring the bitumen at 170°C, which had to be spread in less than 20 minutes to prevent premature hardening, according to local television station Telemadrid. Another layer will be added to complete the surface in the coming weeks.

A 24% banking rate for "the Monumental"

The corner dubbed "La Monumental" is already shaping up to be one of the most impressive curves on the calendar. At 550 meters long, this corner boasts a 24% banking, reminiscent of the final corner at Zandvoort, for example, promising to severely test both drivers and cars.

Yet another Mario Kart track when nearby there is Jarama, a historic and "old school" circuit that deserved to be modernized and which was fully booked last Saturday for the coffee grinder race!

Bitumen is the binder, the coating is an asphalt mix, bitumen makes up 5% of the final product.
