The V6s will be limited to 15000 revs

The regulations which will come into force from the 2014 season provide for significant changes, mainly from an engine point of view where the V8 will be replaced by a 6 liter turbocharged V1.6. The FIA has indicated that it will limit engine speed to 15 rpm.

This is a relief for the teams who feared an engine speed limited to 12 revolutions per minute, as initially desired by the FIA.

The Federation also announced that the gearboxes will be equipped with eight gears and that the passages through the pits will be covered by the cars in all-electric mode.
