Vibrators still bother Mercedes

Last Sunday, the race Mercedes W11 could have stopped suddenly due to problems with the gearbox sensors, caused by repeated passages on the vibrators of the Red Bull ring.

Si Valtteri Bottas et Lewis Hamilton were able to reach the finish, the world champion team got to work at the end of the race last Sunday to try to remedy the problem. New parts were also brought this weekend for the Styrian Grand Prix.

“It's been a busy week at the plant trying to understand and find a solution to the electrical issues we encountered last weekend, indicated Andrew Shovlin, head of track engineering after the first free practice sessions.

New wiring arrived in time for the car assembly on Wednesday and it worked successfully today. We'd like a little more rolling before concluding that it's resolved, but it certainly seems to have improved our situation. » But there still seems to be concern for the German management.

“It's a constant massacre of the suspension, which will give us headaches, so once we settle into our positions we'll try to avoid the curbs, confesses Toto wolff, Team Principal of Mercedes on the website of the F1. This is a very specific topic for Austria.

There will be turns where you have no chance of not using them. Whether Max is in the lead or behind us, it will not be possible to drive while carefully avoiding the kerbs. »

To see what the behavior of the two Mercedes on track will be later from 15:10 p.m. for the race, which will be followed live on our website via our live-text.
