The noose tightens on Bernie Ecclestone

The year is off to a bad start for Bernie Ecclestone. German justice confirmed that the trial against Mr. E. would indeed take place after studying the evidence concerning the latter's involvement in the Gribkowsky affair. Bernie is suspected of having paid 45 million euros to the German banker who was convicted and imprisoned. If Bernie Ecclestone assures that he paid this money because he was the victim of blackmail, the Munich court does not seem to have believed his version of the facts.

With the trial scheduled for April, CVC communicated a few hours later indicating that Bernie Ecclestone had offered his resignation from the board of directors but that he would continue to be responsible for the affairs of the company. F1 day by day. “The Board believes that it is in the best interests of business and discipline for Mr. Ecclestone to continue to do so. Mr Ecclestone is in agreement with these arrangements. Mr. Ecclestone told the council that he was innocent of the charges with which he had been accused. the press release said.
