Lewis Hamilton lowers the curtain

The fourth day of testing at Jerez was ultimately not disrupted by rain showers. Throughout the day, the drivers were able to lower the time, until Lewis Hamilton only seals it in the final minutes of the session. While the best time had belonged to Adrian Sutil (Force India) until then, the driver McLaren improved it three times in the final minutes of the session, setting the day's record at 1. With this time, Lewis Hamilton is also the fastest driver of the week.

Felipe Massa stood out by staying on track for a long time, completing 160 laps in total for the day, another record for the week. There Team focused on the comparison of tires. Thus, Massa used both types of rain tires in the morning, before performing a long run and comparing, in the afternoon, the different types of slick tires supplied by Bridgestone. Next week, Felipe Massa will keep the wheel since he will be on track the first two days, before Fernando Alonso don't relay it.

Virgin Racing, after three frustrating days, was finally able to complete a significant number of laps. If Lucas di Grassi did not show much at the start of the day, he spent a lot of time on the Jerez circuit in the afternoon, completing more than 60 laps.

After four days of testing in Jerez, this second session of the pre-season is closed. The next meeting for the drivers and teams is set for next Wednesday, for a new four-day session, again in Jerez.
