Lewis Hamilton controlled the proceedings

Since the start of the Italian weekend on Friday in Monza, Lewis Hamilton completely mastered his subject. At the wheel of a Mercedes W06 Hybrid equipped with the latest developments on the Power Unit at the star, the World Champion flew through the race proceedings, after having maneuvered well at the start.

“I think we all probably had a bit of a rough start and I managed to hold my position. Sebastian was really fair in the first corner and then we had to dig in, take care of the tires, take care of the tires while widening the gap... I was really able to control it. I felt really comfortable. »

The Briton also indicated that he had driven a perfectly tuned car this Sunday, he who admitted yesterday that he was not completely satisfied with his performance. « The balance of the car was perfect for the race. So maybe not for qualifying but perfect for today. This was one of my favorites from the start of the year. »

With the retirement of Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, under a time penalty after the finish (the pressure of the left rear tire of the W06 Hybrid had been measured too low before the start), took the opportunity to increase his ahead of his teammate by 53 points.
