Lewis Hamilton fears the Nürburgring

At Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton proved that he had lost none of his fighting spirit by snatching fourth place from Felipe Massa (Ferrari) in the last lap of the race. The Briton is now preparing to return to the Nürburgring track, where he experienced some difficult recent events.

Lewis Hamilton remembers his setbacks on the German track. “I qualified well in 2009, but I was hit from behind and had a puncture which damaged the car », recalls the 2008 World Champion. “In 2007, we had a big downpour after a few laps. I left the track in the same place as other drivers. Fortunately, the management had stopped the race, but I found myself one lap behind. »

After such experiences, Lewis Hamilton does not want to predict any result, knowing that things can change very quickly at the Nürburgring. “I learned a lesson from it: never make predictions before going to Nürburg. The circuit is perhaps less epic than the 20 kilometer one and it is certainly safer, but it can still get you. The weather can change very quickly, you can have all the seasons in one afternoon. »
