Lewis Hamilton back on pole position at Monza

Forgotten Saturday's electronic problems, Lewis Hamilton has indeed resumed its march forward today at Monza in Italy, signing its first pole position since the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. The Briton beat his teammate Nico Rosberg and the Williams by Vatteri Bottas. Engines Mercedes were expected around the corner on the other side of the Alps, they responded.

Because behind the Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas will find his teammate Felipe Massa on the all-Williams second row. The third line will be composed of McLaren de Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button. You will have to go to the fourth line to find traces of the first car equipped with another engine than that of the Etoile with the Ferrari F14 T Fernando Alonso, which failed to confirm the promising free tests of the Italian single-seaters. The Spaniard is ahead of Red Bull of the World Champion Sebastian Vettel as well as Daniel Ricciardo, Sergio Pérez closing the top 10 with his Mercedes-powered Force India. The German firm places seven engines on the first places on the grid.

No trace of Kimi Räikkönen in the top 10 and for good reason, the Finn failed to cross the threshold of Q2, following two errors in his flying laps. The Finn took 12th place in the session, behind the Toro Rosso of Daniil Kvyat who will, however, receive a 10-place penalty following his change of combustion engine. On the French side, Jean-Eric Vergne takes 13th place on his Toro Rosso, while Romain Grosjean (Lotus) continues its difficult weekend in 18th position, two places ahead of Jules Bianchi (Marussia).

The Monza race will take place tomorrow at 14 p.m., and can be followed live on AUTOhebdo.fr. Photos from the Italian Grand Prix can be viewed here.
