Lewis Hamilton leads in EL2 in Barcelona

Mercedes once again confirms its superiority during the second free practice session in Barcelona. The order has been reversed compared to this morning, since Lewis Hamilton this time ahead of his teammate Valtteri Bottas, author of a short passage in the gravel between turns 11 and 12, with a reference time established in 1'16"883, almost three tenths ahead of the Finn.

Former teammates Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Daniel Ricciardo (Renault) follow in 3rd and 4th position and are the only ones not to be relegated more than a second behind the W11.

Their respective garage neighbors are suffering. Esteban Ocon achieved a good 8th time but was almost half a second behind Ricciardo. It's worse for Alexander albon at Red Bull, the Thai seemed more in difficulty at the wheel of his mount and finished ten places behind his leader.

Romain Grosjean (Haas), slowed down by a technical problem at the end of the session, finished in 5th place ahead of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) which is relegated to 1″2 behind Mercedes. Despite a new chassis, Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) does not see its problems resolved and only finishes in a disappointing 12th

Mixed day for the McLaren, since Carlos Sainz concludes his day in a solid 7th place while Lando Norris enters the ranks in 14th position. The Racing Point drivers did not have as rosy an afternoon as their horses. Sergio Pérez and Lance stroll finished 8th and 11th respectively, and did not appear as comfortable as at the start of the season.

Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri) completes the top 10 and once again dominates his teammate Daniil Kvyat (15th). Kevin Magnussen (Haas) is a good distance from Grosjean and ahead of the Alfa Romeo and Williams. Georges Russell, who had to give up his seat during the first session to Roy Nissany, brings up the rear 2″5 behind the leader.
