Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes dominate

Felipe Massa has long maintained the best performance of the day at the wheel of his Williams FW37, after the mid-day break. But Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), in soft tires unlike Massa and Räikkönen, 2nd and 3rd times on super-soft tires, was ultimately the fastest, with a best time established in 1’23”022 one hour before the end of the session. Two interruptions in the afternoon occurred following stops on track by the Sauber of Marcus Ericsson and the Toro Rosso de Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard, 4th this Saturday, is ahead of the Frenchman in the rankings Romain Grosjean (Lotus), Ericsson, Nico Hulkenberg (Force India), a real metronome today with 158 laps on the clock, Kevin Magnussen (McLaren) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull).

Most of the teams' work in the afternoon focused on race simulations, particularly for the Team Ferrari and Kimi Räikkönen. On the side of McLaren, if Jenson Button had managed to complete 101 laps yesterday, the Dane Magnussen was forced to end his day prematurely, following the discovery of an oil leak on the MP4-30.

Tomorrow, the last day of 2015 winter testing will begin at 9 a.m. and will once again be followed live on our website.
