In 18 seasons of Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton had time to leave his mark on the sport. A little too much time, even. Impressive from his rookie year to the point of claiming the title until the last Grand Prix in Brazil in 2007 under the colours of McLaren, the Englishman went on to establish himself as one of the greatest in history, if not the greatest.

As he celebrates his 40th birthday this Tuesday, January 7, 2025, and prepares to begin a new challenge in his career with Ferrari, his third team, the one now called Sir Lewis Hamilton was able to establish some historic marks. The figures speak for themselves with no less than 16 records and 2 other co-holders among which that of the greatest number of world titles, shared with Michael Schumacher (7)

Lewis Hamilton's records

176 departures from the first line

Nice list of records ... but records, as we all know, are made to be broken. If by chance (which I doubt) Max Verstappen decided to stay in F1 until the age of 40, he could smash all of these records, especially with 24 or even 25 annual Grand Prix!
