Lewis Hamilton: “I did everything I could”

After a great start and at the end of a race where Lewis Hamilton et Max Verstappen exchanged the leadership roles on several occasions, it was the seven-time world champion who finished behind his rival, pocketing the point for the best lap. With a similar strategy, the Briton only managed to catch the Dutchman in the final laps. In the general classification, the driver Red Bull widens a gap of 12 points on the man with 100 victories in F1. A fine player after the race, Lewis Hamilton praised the work of his opponent, while confessing that he had given his all to try to win his 6th Grand Prix of the season.
“Firstly I want to congratulate Max Verstappen who did a great job today. It was a very difficult race, I had a very good start and I did everything I could but in the end they had the advantage over us this weekend and we couldn't hope for much more. I want to thank my entire team for the very good pit stops and for the good strategy adopted this weekend.”
