Lewis Hamilton returns to victory

Lewis Hamilton finally returns to success, the pilot McLaren having not won since the Chinese GP. “If we continue to attack like this, these are the kind of results we can get”, declared the winner to his team. The Briton proved to be the fastest, preventing his opponents from getting back on him.

The 2008 World Champion won in front Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), which confirms the good performance of Ferrari. Red Bull signs its worst result of the season by only placing the RB7 of Mark Webber, pole-sitter of the race, in third position. Sebastian Vettel was in difficulty in this race, but he still took the points for fourth place after passing Felipe Massa (Ferrari) in the last pit stop.

Behind the Brazilian, Adrian Sutil (Force India) achieved a very good sixth place in his national Grand Prix. His two-stop strategy proved effective against the drivers Mercedes GP. Nico Rosberg is seventh ahead Michael Schumacher. Kamui Kobayashi (Sauber) is ninth ahead of Vitaly Petrov (Lotus-Renault GP), who saves his team's weekend after the abandonment of Nick Heidfeld, who suffered contact with the STR6 of Sebastien Buemi.

Jenson Button (McLaren) also retired. The winner of the Canadian GP returned to the pits after a hydraulic problem was detected on his MP4-26. The 2009 World Champion was in sixth place. This is his second retirement in two races after that at Silverstone.
