Lewis Hamilton stays ahead in Bahrain

The Englishman Lewis Hamilton did not, however, drive on behalf of the German team today, but according to the test program defined by Pirelli. The 2008 world champion was therefore able to benefit from experimental tires, which did not prevent him from posting the best performance of these two days of testing on the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain. Williams, with Felipe Nasr, was the other team which officiated for the Italian manufacturer, after Caterham yesterday.

Among the other teams, we will remember the new dark day for Lotus. Still burdened with problems from the turbo/hybrid V6 Renault, the stable of Romain Grosjean did not complete more laps than yesterday, bringing his total to 32 in two days. Enough to provoke half-anger from the French towards the engine manufacturer of Viruses. " Renault must progress in performance and reliability, because today it was totally unacceptable. » blurted Grosjean.

Difficult day also for Ferrari who interrupted his program after discovering a problem with the chassis of the car led by Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard used Kimi Räikkönen's car, which had damaged its floor, in free practice last weekend on the curb at Turn 4.

Jean-Eric Vergne achieved the second fastest time of the day with his Toro Rosso with 63 laps completed. For Jules Bianchi, the 93 laps at the wheel of his Marussia are encouraging for the future.
