After a difficult first part of the season for Mercedes, punctuated all the same by five podiums for Lewis Hamilton, the Briton went to recharge his batteries in the lands of his origins. If some take advantage of the summer break and their vacations to participate to cycling races in the United States like Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton left to discover four African countries and says he is more refreshed than ever.
“The last two weeks have been some of the best days of my life. he confides on his Instagram account. I am no longer the same man I was before this trip. All the beauty, love and peace I felt completely transformed me. No photo could capture how I feel now and what I'm trying to say. »
The seven-time world champion was seen on his social networks traveling to the four corners of Africa. Although he only stayed a few days in each country he passed through, the Briton apparently had a good time away from the radars of the F1, with indigenous tribes like the Pokot, during his journey to Kenya.
“Just know that where words fail, emotions run deep, relates Hamilton. I connected to my roots and my history and I feel my ancestors with me, stronger than ever. Thanks to Namibia, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania. Thank you to the people here, to nature and to the wildlife. We were welcomed in every beautiful place we visited. We were treated like family. »
The Briton will also be back in the paddocks for the next F1 Grand Prix, in Belgium, from August 26 to 28. Still looking for his first victory of the season, Lewis Hamilton, sixth in the championship, will perhaps be able to draw on his recent inspirations, and the big break that he offered himself in this month of August.

I imagine that he will also take the opportunity to lobby for the return of F1 to the African continent, in particular to Kyalami in South Africa! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysIBexERyHw

I suppose he traveled across Africa by bike, after disembarking from his pedal boat, is he so 'green'? ! ?
