A different era altogether, as Ascari had competed in 14 Grands Prix in just two seasons... which, along with two consecutive wins at the start of the season, made it easier to set his sights on the world title. Today, with 24 GPs (perhaps 22 if Bahrain and Saudi Arabia aren't replaced), leading the championship like Antonelli is no guarantee of final victory! The only certainty is that Williams, Cadillac, and Aston Martin will not be in contention for the titles in 2026.
