Ferrari's tribute to Gilles Villeneuve

On May 8, Ferrari will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the death of Gilles Villeneuve, who died during qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix on the Zolder circuit after colliding with Jochen Mass's March Engineering. There Team will organize an event on the Fiorano circuit where his son Gilles will drive the 312T4 with which the Canadian finished vice-world champion in 1979.

Ferrari does not want to forget one of its loyal drivers who competed in 66 Grands Prix under the colors of Maranello. “Memories of him are still vivid in the minds of most people in Maranello”, comments the Scuderia. “His talent, his speed, and his bravery which flirted with recklessness have ensured that his name is still very popular with fans, even among the youngest who have only been able to see the videos of his races or the stories written by journalists. This will be an opportunity to pay a well-deserved tribute to evoke the memory which has and will always have a place of honor in the history of Ferrari. »
