Liam Lawson, recently promoted to Red Bull reserve driver after Juri Vips controversy, will therefore have his first experience with F1 2022. “I am very impatient for my first Free Practice at Spa. It's going to be an incredible feeling to start on a circuit that I've always loved, so in Formula 1 it's going to be incredible. I've done a lot of simulator work over the last few years, I've prepared for that so I think the pace will be good,” declared the New Zealander, who cast his seat in the AlphaTauri this week.
Currently 8th in the championship Formula 2 for his second season in the category, Liam Lawson will have the opportunity to prove his worth, while the seat of Yuki tsunoda is still not confirmed for 2023. The AlphaTauri team, for its part, respects the obligation to run a young driver for the first time this season. As a reminder, since this season, each team must run a rookie in Free Practice 1 at least twice.
