In an economic context where certain promoters or circuits sometimes appear in difficulty, as in Germany, the person responsible for organizing the United States Grand Prix in Austin is putting forward a possible new avenue to explore for Liberty Media, the new owner of the F1.
Bobby Epstein, at the head of the Texan event, believes that the American group should become the owner of certain circuits as part of the future strategy put in place by Chase Carey's men.
“I see a lot of logical and commercial reasons for them to own certain circuits, explains Espein, quoted by Reuters. I think all circuits are struggling in the current environment. If Liberty Media changes this and helps the circuits survive, wouldn't it be better to own the circuits than to make concessions?
Are they giving up profitability by not owning the circuits? If circuits are going to make money from an F1 race, then F1 might as well benefit from that profit. »
