Liberty Media plans to limit Ferrari gains

The complaints of the most modest stables on the plateau of F1 have perhaps finally been heard. In an interview given to Forbes, the executive director of Liberty Media, Greg Maffei, whose group is in the process of acquiring the Championship, raised the prospect of a redistribution of winnings among the teams.

" If you are Ferrari, you have huge income from financial partners that comes directly to you. They would have even more with superb races, argued Greg Maffei. We must think about a more equitable redistribution of income. If I were in Ferrari's shoes, I would be willing to make concessions given that they would benefit from an excellent platform to obtain income from sponsors. »

Forbes specifies that such an operation would not be feasible immediately due to current contracts which will not end before 2020.

The European Commission is still investigating the matter since Force India and Sauber filed suit in 2015.
