Free 2: Force India confirms

Adrian Sutil (Force India) had already shown himself to be very fast in recent weeks, particularly at Spa-Francorchamps where, in the shadow of Giancarlo Fisichella, the German driver had also demonstrated the good dispositions of the Force India. After the best time Lewis Hamilton in the morning, it's his teammate Heikki Kovalainen (McLaren) who showed himself more at the forefront. The Finn thus achieved a good first reference time (1:25:311), before Nick Heidfeld (BMW-Sauber) took the lead (1:24:693), for around ten minutes. Adrian Sutil then placed himself with the second time, before setting the best time (1:24??314).

While Kazuki Nakajima (Williams) narrowly avoided hitting the circuit protections at high speed, making only one pass through the gravel, Sutil's time still holds. They are not the pilots Red Bull, very careful with their engines Renault, who will steal the best time from him. Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel do not attack and just align the towers, but it is Sébastien Buemi (Toro Rosso) who accumulate the most laps in 1h30 (44).

At the end of the session, Romain Grosjean (Renault) accumulates good times on soft tires, and steals the best time (1:24:163) from Adrian Sutil five minutes from the end of the countdown. But the German driver, during a last run, regained his strength and dropped below 1?24?? (1?23??924). In addition to Force India, which confirms its speed on fast circuits, Renault also stands out. Apart from the “affair” which is shaking the paddock, the diamond firm sees its two drivers placed in the Top 3.
