Free 2: McLaren keeps the lead

The more the hours pass, the warmer the weather gets in Türkiye. At the start of the afternoon, the thermometer indicates 30°C in the air, while the track climbs to more than 45°C, and even 51°C at the end of the session. Bruno Senna (HRT), who was unable to ride in the morning, got into action first and set a time of 1:37:906.

While Kamui Kobayashi (Sauber) goes out in turn 8, where everyone is trying to go to the floor, Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) wins the best time (1:29:908). Fastest driver in the morning, the Briton is in good shape.

Jenson Button (McLaren) joins him at the front (1) but Hamilton takes the best time (29), which Button in turn erases (399). Between the two McLaren drivers, this battle lasted for a while and seemed to be won by the younger of the two, Lewis Hamilton (1).

Michael Schumacher (Mercedes) is getting closer to the first places (1?29??328), just like the drivers Red Bull which, traditionally, show themselves during the last of the three hours of driving of the day. Mark Webber sets a time of 1:29:058, while Sebastian Vettel made a lap in 1?29??174.

But the German driver subsequently improved, setting his best lap in 1:28:590. In the meantime, Lewis Hamilton has improved (1) but it is not he who will finish with the best time. Jenson Button manages to run in 28:672:1, when Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) made a lap in 1?28??725.

In the final minutes, Mark Webber improved (1) but, shortly after, had to abandon his car at the side of the track due to a problem unknown at the time. The session ends like this and Red Bull, despite this problem, places its two cars, while McLaren continues to monopolize the best times on Friday.
