Free 2: Vettel the fastest

Red Bull, at the end of this first day of testing in Hungary, finished with the best times in both sessions of the day. The team of Milton Keynes was initially discreet at the very start of this second test session. Kamui Kobayashi (Sauber) took the best time (1:24:574), before being taken over by Vitaly Petrov (Renault, 1?22??490) and Rubens Barrichello (Williams, 1?22??468).

But, very quickly, Red Bull came out of its reserve, on a circuit not burdened by the usual extreme heat of Budapest (24 to 25°C). Mark Webber runs in 1?22??422 then 1?21??046 and takes the lead. Sebastian Vettel close behind him in 1?21??324.

Throughout the session, the Red Bull drivers improved and, with just under half an hour remaining in the session, Sebastian Vettel approached the 80-second mark (1'20"087). Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) then intervenes between the two RB6s, occupying second place in 1, ahead of Mark Webber (20).

At the end of the session, the timesheet no longer changes, most of the drivers are on specific preparation programs. At the end of the day's three hours of driving, Red Bull appears to be the big favorite for qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. But, as at Silverstone and Hockenheim, Ferrari is not far away and can hope to cast doubt on the Milton Keynes team.
