Free 3: Trulli shows up

Suzuka, after Friday?s downpours, can finally see the sun cover the circuit and the drivers take to the track without hesitation. Having been unable to carry out their usual program on Friday, the teams are counting on this third session to make the right adjustments before qualifying.

Fernando Alonso signs the first significant time in 1:35:438, beating the times set on Friday on a wet track. At the same time, Jenson Button scratched his front wing when hitting Jaime Alguersuari. Jarno Trulli, shortly after, set the best time (1:33:901), stringing together the laps. If few drivers are on the track, some teams are holding back their cars while waiting for the track to fill with rubber, after the heavy rain the day before.

Kimi Räikkönen, once out, set the best time (1:33:453), while Jarno Trulli improved his time but remained behind the Finn, before improving again, in order to take the lead (1? 33??258). After twenty minutes of session, it's surprising Sébastien Buemi which, on hard tires, lowers the reference time (1:33:203).

The Swiss then continued the fast laps and improved his time (1:32:815 then 1:32:240). Halfway through the session, the pilot Toro Rosso ahead Sebastian Vettel and Jarno Trulli. Meanwhile, the Brawn GP drivers line up the laps, being among the most diligent on track in order to find the optimal settings. Twenty minutes from the end of the session, Rubens Barrichello (4th) and Jenson Button (6th) are a few tenths behind Sébastien Buemi. Especially since the latter drives the point home by signing an excellent 1 straight away.

Ten minutes from the end of the session, the two drivers Renault occupy the last two positions in the ranking. The two cars left late and returned to the middle of the pack with the 13th place of Fernando Alonso and the 11th place of Romain Grosjean. Jarno Trulli, in the last minute of the session, snatched the best time of the session from Sébastien Buemi, in 1:31??709. The two drivers, dominant in this session, showed themselves to their advantage before the qualifying session.
