Liuzzi plans to become a starter again in F1

After having played the 2011 season of F1 within the HRT team, Vitantonio Liuzzi was demoted to third driver this year after being replaced by Spaniard Pedro de la Rosa. The Italian then turned to the Superstars International Series by joining the CAAL Racing team with which he has already scored a podium and a victory last weekend at Monza at the wheel of Mercedes C63 AMG.

If Vitantonio Liuzzi shines in the Italian touring car discipline, he still hopes to have the opportunity to get back behind the wheel of an F1 Grand Prix, now that the discipline no longer has a single Italian with the replacement of Jarno Trulli by Vitaly Petrov at Caterham F1 Team. “Obviously, I miss F1 because it is the pinnacle of motorsport and it is the ultimate goal in a driver?s career”, declared the resident of the HRT team in Touring Car Times. “I will definitely try to come back to it in the future. On the other hand, I'm really happy to be here (in the Superstars Series). I would have to study the situation carefully if I was asked to return to F1 mid-season. My position as third pilot remains a priority for me and we never know what the future holds. »
