No, Kimi Räikkönen is not about to leave the world of motorsport. If he ended his career in Formula 1 in 2021 after 19 seasons roaming the paddock, the Finn doesn't seem to want to rest anytime soon.

Always interested in other disciplines than F1 like rally with a passage in WRC, the 2007 world champion has decided to enter the world of motocross this time. A big fan of two-wheelers, Kimi Räikkönen will be donning the main team costume of the Kawasaki Racing Team in MXGP, the motocross world championship.

« It's no secret that motocross has always been one of my great passions but this mission is not a hobby, warns former Ferrari driver. It's very serious, we are focused and we aspire to be the best we can be. Now that I have retired from the competition, I will be able to devote more time to this project, not for daily problems but rather from a strategic point of view, using my experience of how teams work and what creates success on the world stage."

Along with Steve Guttridge (responsible for race planning) and Antti Pyrhonen (team manager), Kimi Räikkönen will oversee Kawasaki's project in the motocross world championship where Romain Febvre and Ben Watson will defend the team's interests on the track. At 42, “Iceman” doesn’t plan to hang it up.
