Lotus F1 Team dreams of heat in Hungary

The German GP will have been experienced differently by Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean, the first finishing on the podium after a penalty imposed on Sebastian Vettel while the second held on in the first lap and competed in a race at the back of the peloton. Lotus F1 Like the other teams, the Team endured the rainy conditions encountered during testing for the last two events while it was hoping for dry weather to make the most of the potential of its cars, which were particularly efficient in the heat.

For Romain Grosjean, it will above all be about making people forget the disappointment he experienced at Hockenheim. “It’s a story already experienced, we need to get good performances in qualifying. We have new developments coming, which is a good thing. This time it should be nice and warm, which will certainly be better than the cold we experienced recently. I like the Hungaroring, I’ve had good experiences there in the past. I took my first pole in GP2 in 2008 and I took the victory and the last step of the podium last year. I hope that my past on this circuit will help me to have a good race and that all the tests will be run in the dry so that we can work efficiently from start to finish, that would be very useful to us. »

After scoring his fourth podium of the season in Germany, Kimi Räikkönen will also arrive with confidence on the Hungarian track where the weather should be milder. “This circuit is not the most difficult of all but it is still quite demanding. I have already won once in Hungary (2005) and I took second place three times (2003, 2007 and 2009). On the Hungaroring, the only one who does not suffer is the winner. The team has worked hard to improve the car and I am convinced that we should be competitive. We usually have a hot weekend in Hungary and this is what we have been waiting for since the beginning of summer. You will have to perform good qualifications to start at the front because it is very difficult to overtake. »
