Lotus waits until Europe

Lotus Racing approached its arrival in the best possible way. Formula 1. Unlike Virgin Racing and Hispania Racing Team, Tony Fernandes' team was able to hit the track during the first free practice sessions without too many mechanical problems. As a ?reward?, the yellow and green cars achieved decent times, certainly far from the best teams, but with room for improvement which makes the team optimistic.

Lotus Racing is even at the patience stage since the T127 will receive major developments. First in Barcelona, at the beginning of May, then at Silverstone, at the beginning of July. It is in the heart of summer that the Hingham-based team hopes to reap the fruits of its efforts. Lotus wants to be able to compete with mid-pack teams (Toro Rosso, Sauber, Williams?) once the cars of Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen are ready for this battle.

In Melbourne, after the first day of testing for the Australian Grand Prix, Lotus was able to continue its development work. “ The second session was disrupted by rain, notes Mike Gascoyne, technical director, but we were able to ride with both types of tires and were able to observe the behavior of each of the compounds. It's not a bad day, we completed most of our program, despite the conditions of the second session, so I'm satisfied. »
