Lotus continues its learning

Lotus Racing was proud, on the evening of the Bahrain Grand Prix, to have completed an honorable race, managing to bring its two cars to the end of the rally, despite a problem on the last lap for Jarno Trulli. The “best of the new teams” hopes to continue its progress in Melbourne.

« From Bahrain we worked hard returning to the factory », attests Mike Gascoyne, technical director. “ We pushed to get our package to Barcelona. The team therefore worked very hard in the wind tunnel, while we developed our design office. We have been focused on resolving the issues in Bahrain, so we have been very busy »

For its second Grand Prix, Lotus Racing now hopes to experience a quieter race. But you will have to pay attention to the specifics of the route. “ We will be careful in Melbourne. The circuit is not used too much for racing, there are bumps all around the circuit and it is hard on the brakes. But we know the adjustment changes we need to make to improve. Then we have some aerodynamic developments which should give us a tenth or two, so we are confident. »

To distinguish itself from the rest of the paddock beyond the track, Lotus Racing has undertaken to communicate differently. “ Tony Fernandes has always said that he wants us to be a very open team, doing things differently. So we started to make our return to Twitter and we will do it even more in the future. »
