Lotus highlights the reliability of its E23 Hybrid

Like all stables powered by the Power Unit Mercedes, the Lotus team had a productive Barcelona test from a mileage point of view. 361 towers were completed without encountering major mechanical problems, by the three pilots engaged by enstone this week, Pastor Maldonado, Jolyon Palmer (for his first time behind the wheel of the E23) et Romain Grosjean.

“We had a solid test in Barcelona with good reliability and an encouraging performance, Explain Nick Chester, Lotus Technical Director. The most positive point seen so far is the reliability of the E23. It was good to have Romain in the car so we could add his comments to those of Pastor and Jolyon. Yesterday it was very windy, making our work more complicated for our car balance assessments, but we ran a productive race simulation in the afternoon. With the accumulated rounds, we have a lot to work on over the next three days before we get back into action here. »

Lotus will indeed return to the Catalan track in Barcelona on Thursday for the last winter testing session before the start of the season.
