Lotus: Trulli well placed

Jarno Trulli had already said it a few weeks ago: the Lotus option is attractive, the driver being able to reunite on this occasion with Mike Gascoyne, with whom he has already worked at Jordan, Renault et Toyota. Chez Lotus, l?option Trulli peut se révéler également très intéressante, afin de profiter de l?expérience d?un pilote qui parcourt les circuits de F1 for more than ten years.

Mike Gascoyne, technical director of Lotus F1 Racing, confirmed to Autosport that the Italian driver is a serious candidate for a seat in 2010. This is one of those we would want. Jarno has, on a tour, always been sensational. This is even more important in a new team because you need to know where you stand. Jarno will always know how to bring that. »

Beyond the Abruzzo driver, Mike Gascoyne recognizes that he wants drivers on whom he can rely in order to refine the technical work. “ We are looking for experienced pilots. We don't want paying pilots, nor young pilots. We think this is very important for the team. » And, to stick to this profile, the name of Jarno Trulli comes up again as obvious. “ I have always had good relations with Jarno. I know how to work with him. And he likes working with me. So this is an option. »

In terms of progress, Mike Gascoyne believes Lotus F1 Racing is preparing well for 2010, having made up for the delay caused by the late announcement of entry into Formula 1. What is becoming clear to everyone is that we went from last to first among the new teams very quickly. We are seen as a serious entity. »
