Lotus wants to return to the top 5

Like many stables present in F1, Lotus will be playing at home in a week at Silverstone in Great Britain. Gérard Lopez’s men will only be a stone’s throw from the factory.enstone, and are counting on this event to regain fifth place in the Manufacturers' standings, abandoned to Force India in Austria.

« We really intend to take up these points. The E23 is performing well and a clear weekend should allow us to score big points. » admits Nick Chester, the technical director of Lotus who intends to build on the work accomplished during the testing days which followed the Austrian Grand Prix. “It was very helpful in terms of understanding our aero package. In the end, we achieved our goals and completed our program. We have done a lot of work on the settings in preparation for the Grand Prix in England. Overall, the tests were useful despite the heavy downpours of the first morning. We tried small updates at Spielberg, which we will bring to Silverstone »

If Pastor Maldonado once again climbed into the points in Austria, Romain Grosjean will try to find its way back to the top 10, after having experienced several gearbox problems on the Red Bull ring.
