Luca di Montezemolo leaves Ferrari

Luca di Montezemolo made a point of going to the Italian Grand Prix in Monza for a final union with the fans. But the Italian announced this morning that he would leave his post as President of Ferrari and the stable F1 eponym. “Ferrari will have an important role to play within the FCA Group (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) on Wall Street. This will launch a new phase which should be led by the CEO of the Group. I have decided to leave my position as President after 23 wonderful and unforgettable years added to those spent alongside Enzo Ferrari in the 1970s”, commented the Italian businessman.

The famous Ferrari director has not named a replacement for his position but Sergio Marchionne, the CEO of Fiat, will replace him from October 13. “Ferrari is the best company in the world. It’s a huge honor to have been its leader. I wish the shareholders, and particularly Piero Ferrari who has always been at my side, great success in the coming years,” added Luca di Montezemolo who would be likely to take control of the airline Alitalia.
