Luiz Razia is recovering… slowly

His season was short-lived. Announced by Marussia to replace Timo Glock, the German sacked to make way for a paying driver, Luiz Razia ultimately hardly drove his Formula 1. One of his sponsors not having paid the expected money, the Brazilian was replaced last Friday by the Frenchman Jules Bianchi. A hard blow for the one who was on the verge of realizing his dream, even if he claims not to have lost any sleep. “I’m going to sleep tonight, knowing that this failure is circumstantial”, he explains to the Brazilian newspaper O Estado de Sao Paolo. At Globo, another media outlet from his country, Luiz Razia, wearing a t-shirt bearing the very ironic inscription “Dream Killer”, (dream killer, editor's note), details what went wrong. “Two people owning a business signed a contract with Marussia. They paid the deposit and then ran into problems. » According to Globo, almost 6 million euros were missing.

“It was hard for me, obviously”, continues the Brazilian. “I need to pull myself together. But I have faith and sometimes this kind of thing happens so that we grow spiritually. Now I will return to Milton Keynes (in the United Kingdom, editor’s note) and think about what I could do with my life”.

Concerning his replacement, Jules Bianchi, Luiz Razia is certain of one thing: the Frenchman would also be very well sponsored. “It would be funny if someone thought otherwise. Without it, I'd be sitting in the car now.", says the pilot, who also believes that Ferrari played a key role in this transfer. “Don't be surprised if Marussia races next year with a Ferrari engine and transmission”. The Russian team based in Great Britain is still looking for a V6 for 2014.
