In Mexico, Ferrari arrived with great ambitions in its luggage. Constantly progressing from Russia and the introduction of the latest developments on the V6 hybrid, the Team regains momentum and gets closer to McLaren, current 3rd of the Manufacturers.

With the SF21 becoming more and more efficient, the men from Maranallo were therefore aiming for a very good result in qualifying this Saturday. Despite the 6th and 8th respective positions of Carlos Sainz et Charles Leclerc, Ferrari did not seem excited at the end of the session. " (It is) a reasonable result which did not live up to the team's expectations at the start of the weekend, we said on the Red side. The goal was to be just behind both teams (Red Bull et Mercedes) who are fighting for the championship »

The most successful man in the house with the 6th mark this Saturday, Carlos Sainz also seemed of this opinion after the checkerboard even if he did not display great disappointment with the result achieved. “ It was one of the most hectic and stressful qualifying sessions of my career, admitted the Spaniard. Between my problem with the start procedure, the red flag and the traffic, the result wasn't so bad in the end but I was fast all weekend and I wanted more.

With everything happening on track, I wasn't able to get into rhythm and put in a clean lap until my last attempt in Q3. The lap wasn't even perfect but given how the session went I can't be very disappointed even if I would have liked to have had the same feeling from the car as in free practice.."
