Small consolation at Red Bull

Qualified in 4th and 5th positions yesterday under the flood in Malaysia, Both Red Bull RB11 of Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo have not confirmed today in the race, beaten in particular by the Toro Rosso. In the heat of Sepang, the two Austrian single-seaters notably suffered from brake problems.

“It’s a very frustrating race, confesses Ricciardo. I was ready to fight today, and I was hoping for something special, but it wasn't to be. I was the victim of contact on the first lap which handicapped me, and we had small problems afterwards which we had to manage. It took time to pass the cars, because we didn't have the pace and we had brake problems which did not make our afternoon any easier. »

“After the safety car came in, the brake temperature started to increase and we were forced to take care of the cars during the second part of the race, adds Team Principal Christian Horner.  I don't think the drivers could do much more today. »

The Red Bull drivers saved the furniture with 9th and 10th positions, but one lap behind the winner, Kvyat having also been caught in a collision with the Force India of Hulkenberg, penalized for the maneuver.
