In the Sepang furnace, the two Silver Arrows of Nico Rosberg, best time in 1’39”690, and Lewis Hamilton were the most comfortable this morning. The German single-seaters dominated the Ferrari SF15-T by Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel which conclude this final free practice session five tenths behind the two W06 Hybrids.
Williams also finished in close order with Felipe Massa 5th in front Valtteri Bottas, the two FW37s conceding seven tenths on the leading cars. Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) takes the almost complete contingent of single-seaters powered by the turbo/hybrid V6 Renault by preceding the Toro Rosso de Carlos Sainz et Max Verstappen. The Sauber C34 of Marcus Ericsson finished 10th. The two Lotus E23s Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado fail at the gates of the top 10, but will clearly aim for Q3 in qualifying.
McLaren appears once again indented with Fernando Alonso 15th at 2″301, and Jenson Button 18th at 2″629, just ahead of the two Manor Marussias of Roberto Merhi, author of a spin during the session, and Will Stevens.
The qualifications will be followed live on our site from 10 a.m. French time.
