Mallya: Force India is ahead of schedule for 2014

Force India suffered from tire changes during the season as the Indian team only finished in sixth place in the Constructors' Championship, well behind McLaren. But Vijay Mallya's team still has high hopes for the next season where the F1 will change significantly with a new regulation. The refurbishment will be complete at Force India which will line up a new crew with Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Pérez.

Vijay Mallya was optimistic about his team's chances of improving its competitiveness next year even if the various stakeholders in the discipline are impatiently awaiting the first winter tests to get a first idea. “We quickly signed to have the block Mercedes, we quickly started working on the car of 2014 and we dedicated a wind tunnel to the development of this car from May”, indicated the director of Force India on ESPN F1. “All of this was done much earlier than would normally be expected and this is probably one of the reasons why we were unable to adapt to the tire change. We no longer had the blower and other resources needed to solve the problem. However, we no longer have any reason to prevent us from fighting with the big guns by having such a combative design team and crew. »

If Force India therefore seems to be well advanced in the development of its new single-seater, Caterham F1 Team and Sauber F1 Team have already announced that their chassis have passed the FIA crash tests.
