Marchionne: Ferrari had “a first victory”

Scuderia Ferrari will be eagerly awaited this year after the new disillusionment of 2014 when it failed to achieve a single victory. The new regulations, admirably well mastered by Mercedes, relegated the competitors to places of honor while Maranello was already struggling to fight at the forefront. The Italian team has therefore experienced profound changes with the arrivals by Sergio Marchionne to the management of Ferrari, Maurizio Arrivabene as head of the Scuderia and Sebastian Vettel as new hope.

At the Detroit (Michigan) Auto Show, Sergio Marchionne expressed his satisfaction at seeing Ferrari capable of developing its 6l turbo/hybrid V1.6 in the hope of catching up with Mercedes, even if Luca di Montezemolo's replacement is aware that the task promises to be complicated. “I would like to tell the fans to let us work. I will be going to a few races this year, but we have a team manager who will be responsible for looking after the structure day in and day out. We are moving back... The year will be difficult but the important thing is to stay focused. We've already had good results being able to touch the engines during the season when everything looked like it was going to stay frozen. JHe considers this a first victory. Now let's hope that other successes will follow. »
