Marcus Ericsson announces immediate departure from Caterham

If the Caterham team pursues its dream of ending the season in Abu Dhabi via its crowdfunding campaign (crowdfunding), we already know that Marcus Ericsson has just ended his collaboration with the Leafield team with immediate effect.

“Following recent events involving Caterham Sports Limited and 1 MRT Sdn Bhd, my advisor Eje Elgh and I have decided to terminate, with immediate effect, all agreements between me and the Caterham F1 Team. It's a sad day as we've really enjoyed working with the whole team through a difficult season. I would like to thank Colin Kolles, Manfredi Ravetto, Cyril Abiteboul and all the other members of the Caterham F1 team for your confidence in me, and for making my first season Formula 1 an educational and unforgettable experience. Furthermore, I thank my excellent friend and teammate Kamui Kobayashi for being a source of inspiration throughout the year, and I hope to see him back on the track very soon. »

Caterham F1 Team is currently under administrative supervision and missed the final two rounds of the season in the United States in Austin and Brazil last weekend. Ericsson's departure could allow a driver to apply for a seat for Abu Dhabi, if his financial support is significant to allow Caterham to compete on the Yas Marina Circuit on November 23.
