Maria de Villota returns to Spain

After his accident at Duxford during an aero test session carried out by Marussia F1 Team, Maria de Villota was able to return home to Spain. The test driver lost his right eye when he hit the team's support truck and had been receiving treatment at Cambridge Hospital for three weeks. The Russian team, which angered the Spanish Motor Sport Federation by announcing that no mechanical problem had been detected, was able to return home to continue its convalescence phase.

Marussia F1 Team nevertheless wanted to express its satisfaction at seeing the progress of Maria de Villota. “Maria has made significant progress in recent weeks. With the support of her family and friends, she will undoubtedly be in a more conducive environment where she can begin the next phase of her recovery. Marussia F1 Team has been close to the medical team at Addenbrooke's Hospital since Maria's arrival and would like to express our gratitude for the remarkable attention received from them. We all wish him the best for the rest of his convalescence. The team management will continue to have close ties with Maria and her family and will provide all necessary support. »
