Mark Webber with Red Bull in 2013

After being dominated by his teammate Sebastian Vettel during the last two seasons, Mark Webber has had a very good season at Red Bull Racing this year since he is the closest rival to the Championship leader Fernando Alonso by only 13 points behind after signing his second victory of the season last weekend at Silverstone. The Australian fueled transfer debates for the 2013 season where speculation saw him replace Felipe Massa at Ferrari. The last winner of the Monaco Grand Prix will ultimately do nothing since he has just extended his contract for an additional season with the Milton Keynes team.

“I have been with Red Bull Racing since 2007 and have won nine Grands Prix with them”, underlines Mark Webber, who is currently 16 points ahead of his teammate Sebastian Vettel. “I’m feeling very confident right now. I know the team well and I feel comfortable here. We have grown together over the last few years and staying with Red Bull for another season definitely seems like the right decision. The team is constantly working very hard to improve all areas and together we have proven that we can win races. It’s fantastic to be able to make this announcement straight after my victory at Silverstone and I plan to fight again to the limit by attacking again in every race next season. »
