Mark Webber bids farewell to F1 in Brazil

Mark Webber competed in his 216th and final Grand Prix this afternoon in Brazil. Starting from fourth position on the grid, the Australian took the advantage over Nico Rosberg and Fernando Alonso to offer a final double to Red Bull. Si le futur pilote Porsche n’a pas réussi à remporter une dixième victoire face au monstre Sebastian Vettel, the new retiree of the F1 is still satisfied with his weekend.

“It was a great way to end my career, a great fight with all these drivers with whom I enjoyed fighting throughout my career.”, comments Mark Webber in the Interlagos paddock. “Seb, Fernando, Lewis, Nico…all these names that have come to light over the last five or six years. I would like to thank the team. I enjoyed these last few laps. It was a beautiful ending. I would also like to thank everyone who supported me from the first days. This career has been generally enjoyable, I can be proud of it, and many people have provided valuable help. They all know their place and I thank them all. I would enjoy following F1 on TV but my future is now with Porsche. »
