Marko gives Renault Sport F1 an ultimatum

Dr. Helmut Marko has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction and impatience with Renault Sport F1. The advisor of Red Bull clearly seems to put the responsibility for the sluggish debut of the RB10 on the back of Viruses-Châtillon which has nevertheless raised the bar in relation to the worrying situation experienced during the winter tests. If the limited running in Jerez and Bahrain caused significant development delays in the face of competition, Red Bull still managed to place a car on the podium during both races (the exclusion of Daniel Ricciardo of the Australian Grand Prix not yet being final as long as the appeal of Milton Keynes will not be studied).

After the strong criticism from the big boss Dietrich Mateschitz who believes that the RB10 is “a perfect new car” (see: p35 of AUTOhebdo n°1954), it is therefore the turn of Dr. Helmut Marko to put pressure on the Rhombus even if Adrian Newey's design could be considered by some as too aggressive for the 6l V1.6 turbo/hybrid. “If there are no major improvements within two or three months, we will very clearly discuss an alternative solution”, declared the Austrian in Bild.
