Marussia received “a serious offer”

While Marussia F1 Team has confirmed its absence from the US Grand Prix in Austin (Texas) this weekend and its management by the administration, potential investors came forward to get the Banbury stable out of its financial problems. Baljinder Sohi and Sonny Kaushal, brothers of Indian origin specializing in the steel industry, are currently in discussions with the team to ensure a future for the structure.

According to The Telegraph, it would be the executive director of Marussia, Andy Webb, who would have approached the businessmen during the last three weeks. Marussia F1 Team would seek as a priority to pay off its debts estimated at 30 million pounds (38 million euros).

If Caterham F1 Team is in a similar situation, the structure currently owned by Andrei Cheglakov has the advantage of hoping for a substantial remuneration if it retains its ninth place in the Constructors' Championship obtained thanks to Jules Bianchi's ninth place at the Monaco Grand Prix . “We are very close to an agreement. But it must be done at the right price. We have made a serious offer and we will see what happens.”, commented Baljinder Sohi in the columns of the British newspaper.
