Marussia Virgin Racing presents the MVR-02

Succeeding VR-01, first car of the team, the MVR-02 (the “M” symbolizing the new partnership with the Russian car manufacturer Marussia Motors) carries the hopes of a management that has been greatly overhauled following a mediocre 2010 season.

The new single-seater designed by Nick Wirth in charge of technical management, powered by the 8-liter Cosworth V2,4, has a slightly lower snout than on most of the machines unveiled so far by the competition. But also a rear part of its fuselage that is tighter than its predecessor. After recent tests carried out on the Valencia track last week, the team will debut its new car on track next Thursday in Jerez.

The two drivers, Timo Glock and the newly promoted, the Belgian Jérôme d'Ambrosio who replaces the Brazilian Luca Di Grassi, should then have a more precise idea of the potential they will have during the 2011 season. A season on which the team Marussia Virgin Racing aims to achieve a better level of performance and results.
