Massa: This type of results can secure my place

Felipe Massa showed off this weekend at Silverstone by taking fourth place after starting from fifth place on the grid. The Brazilian had already performed well during the difficult qualifying session held in the rain and was able to progress up the hierarchy to finish fourth. The Sao Paulista observes with joy the progressions of the F2012. “It was a good race and I’m delighted to finally get a good result. Race after race, the situation improves and we are able to fight for the podium. This was the case here, but also in Montreal and Valencia, which proves that this performance is not due to luck. »

Unlike his teammate Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa chose to start on hard tires. The Brazilian sought Sebastian Vettel but ultimately defended himself from the return of Kimi Räikkönen. The Ferrari driver hopes to achieve other performances of this rank to ensure a future with the Team. “Fernando and I had different strategies, but I don't think we have any regrets. I got a good start but lost time behind Michael (Schumacher). Vettel took advantage of this and got ahead of me in the stopping game. However, my speed was similar to the Red Bull but I could not get closer to attack. I focused on defending my position during the last stint against the very fast return of Kimi (Räikkönen). If we continue to evolve, I am confident that the results will follow. Is this enough to confirm my place at Ferrari? I don't see any reason why this wouldn't happen if the results are there. »
