Massa: Confident but cautious

Felipe Massa will not have far to go to get to the São Paulo circuit. After two difficult weekends, the Ferrari driver reached the podium again in Korea, protecting his teammate Fernando Alonso who took the opportunity to take the leadership position from Mark Webber. The men of the Team must now protect their position in the home stretch of the season.

The Brazilian trusts his team which has often performed well on the Interlagos track. “ In the past, we have done well in São Paulo, even in the years when our car was not competitive. I hope this will be the case again this weekend. I have already won this race twice and a third success would not displease me. »

However, the Scuderia driver is wary of his adversaries, particularly the Red Bull, who won the race in 2009 with Mark Webber. “ In the last races held in Asia, our car worked well which is rather encouraging. But Red Bull won the last edition and they will surely be strong again this year. »

“For both Championships, it is a very important race,” added the Brazilian. “ But everyone at Ferrari is preparing for it like any other GP. The important element will be reliability, so we will complete our preparation work on Friday before taking part in qualifying which will be essential and very tight due to the lap which is completed quickly. For the race, the objective will be to ensure we reach the finish. Then we'll see where we stand at the checkered flag. »
