Felipe Massa would be on the verge of returning to Williams while the Sao Paulista has just retired after 250 Grands Prix. According to Grand Prize, the Brazilian would have accepted the offer from the British team to replace Valtteri Bottas if the Finn was chosen to take Nico Rosberg's place at Mercedes.
The deal was reportedly signed with a €6 million contract for the season. Our Brazilian colleagues specified that Felipe Massa would have signed this contract this Monday, December 19, with a non-validation clause if Valtteri Bottas was not retained by the star manufacturer.
Confirmation of a return of Felipe Massa to Williams would therefore imply that Valtteri Bottas would have been chosen to replace Nico Rosberg, but Mercedes F1 representatives have warned they will take the necessary time to confirm Lewis Hamilton's future teammate.
